Announcements

The Reading Symposium has officially ended. The West Virginia Reading Association would to thank everyone who made this virtual symposium possible: the WVRA Virtual Symposium committee, the vendors, session presenters, pre-service teacher presenters, and all of participants. Without all of you, this symposium would not have been possible. Please make sure you take a few minutes to complete the evaluation. Your feedback is important to WVRA!
Thursday, February 25, 2021
The state school network has been inconsistent today as there have been numerous wide-spread issues with the captive portal again. If you are not able to access at school, please wait until evening and access the symposium from home.
Individuals who register during school hours may not receive their log in information until evening. Please remember the site person is teaching during the day, and may not be available to respond to registration until the workday is over.

If you are having trouble opening videos, please check the following, as all videos are loading properly:
1. If you are using Windows and Chrome, please make sure Chrome is up-to-date. Please see the FAQ's section for instructions on how to check and update if necessary. You my also try viewing the website in Edge (there seem to be no
issues).
2. If you are using an Apple product, please access the website in Safari. From personal experience, Chrome on an Apple device seems to have issues with opening videos. There have been no issues noted when using Safari.
3. If you are viewing on the school network and/or a school issued device, please make sure that the captive portal has not expired (it sometimes does this frequently and there have been problems with the captive portal this week). You can force the captive portal log-in to come back up by going to youtube.com.
4. If all else fails, restart your computer and try again.

Reminder: Please do not share the site passwords with anyone who is not registered. If an individual would like to attend the symposium, they may do so, but they must register through the link on the WVRA website. The registration link will stay open the duration of the symposium. NOTE: We are no longer accepting Purchase Orders.
If you have a colleague who says they have registered but have not received the website link, please have them contact Brian Bailey at [email protected] or [email protected]. He will double check the list to see if the individual has registered.
NOTE: If your colleague is from a county that paid with a purchase order, but did not register through the link on the WVRA website, they MUST do this step in order to be considered registered for the symposium.
The Zaner-Bloser session currently does not have an active link. We have contacted the company for a fix. When the session is active again, we will post an update here.
